bkm Total Office not only talks the talk, we walk the walk. We have developed businesses that help customers achieve their environmental goals. Our ERI division (Environmentally Responsive Interiors) remanufactures and refurbishes furniture and our recently spun off division bkm Reverse Flow Technology LLC patented and sells a highly efficient heat recovery product for commercial HVAC systems. Among the customers are Universities and businesses in the northern part of the United States and Canada. Additional initiatives include:

3 Distribution centers close to customers' facilities to reduce the use of gasoline during transportation.
Furniture delivered direct to jobsite to avoid excess driving when possible.
Product "blanket wrapped" thus eliminating the use of cardboard whenever possible.
Recycling cardboard by bundling it in special compactors located at each of our distribution facilities.
Reusing move boxes when allowed by customers.
Floorcovering recycling program. Some fibers will be recycled in a "closed loop" process that transforms used carpet fibers into brand new nylon carpet yarn. Other fibers and backings will be recycled for use in new consumer and industrial parts, or converted from waste to energy. Carpet recycling contributes to the LEED rating earned in renovation projects.
